France – Jullouville (En)
Jullouville is a picturesque coastal town located on the Normandy coast, offering a beautiful sandy beach that stretches for almost three kilometres, a rich cultural heritage and a wide variety of outdoor activities.
Where to stay
We stayed at the Carolles Beach Motorhome Park area (48.7593, -1.57048 lat, long), which has 12 pitches, electricity, water and emptying space. The park costs €15.30 per day and is right next to the beach. It’s a 15-minute walk to the town, which can be done right next to the beach, or 5 minutes by bike or scooter. A perfect place to spend a few days.
What to see
Just outside the RV park, there are several beachside restaurants and bars. The sandy beach is pebble-free and offers swimming, sailing, and kitesurfing, as well as strolling along the promenade that leads to the village.
We went by motorcycle to the village, where the historic centre has several notable monuments, including the Church of Saints Peter and Paul and the Maison de la Mer.
In the town centre, there are shops, bars, and restaurants, as well as an impressive street market that we were lucky enough to visit and buy fresh, local produces like sea bream and artisanal sausages.
After spending two fabulous days, we headed to our next destination, Granville, famous for its fortified old town, which you can see in the next blog!
