Holland – Zeeland – Zierikzee – Middleburg (En)

Before we left, we went to see the rest of Zierikzee, the windmill and the city gate. This city gate is surrounded by a canal and in the middle of it is a really cool birdhouse. We went through this gate to see the windmill.

On Wednesday we went to Middleburg the capital of the province of Zeeland. Middleburg is an attractive city with its meandering alleys, elegant canal houses, beautiful abbey, and late-Gothic city hall. With over 1200 monuments, mostly beautifully renovated, two squares full of bars and cafes and main streets with plenty of shops. By the way, in Holland, because they are not religious, many of the religious buildings have been used as museums, restaurants or exhibition centres.

And from Middleburg, we went to Cadzan a village with 790 inhabitants better known to many visitors for the nearby beach at Cadzan-Bad. And you can see this in the following post.
