Ampurias and L’Escala (En)
We went to Ampurias following my cousin’s advice and we parked in a free area in a forest in front of the beach. The place is beautiful and really well located as it is 3 minutes to the ruins and 5 to the town of Ampurias and 10 minutes to L’Escala town. We met Rikky from Holland and Christian from Germany parked in front of us and we told them that later we will have a drink together. First, we went to see the ruins and Ampurias town. The way is in front of the beach and there are bars on the beach. The houses of the town are all made of stone, amazing! We saw the ruins and then we went to the town and after seeing the town we went to the square for lunch. The restaurant was very cute, and they gave us sangria and olives and bread with aioli sauce from the house. Then we ordered a seafood platter for only 20 euros! And they gave us bread with tomato with it, typical from here. The seafood platter has scallops, big prawns, langoustines, crayfish, razor clams, clams, mussels and sea snails. The first time Ben and I tried the sea snails, not bad but not our favourites. All super Yummy and they also invited us to shots.
We went back to the motorhome for a break and a coffee and then we went to the other side to visit L’Escala town. Compared with Ampurias is not very nice but I bought a flip flops really cool!
We went back to the motorhome and we meet with Rikky, Christian and Berta, a Spanish girl from Girona to have a drink outside Rikky’s motorhome. Christian brought a really hard bread, like a rock, and a tomato salad with chilli. He told us that we have to put the bread in the tomato salad and eat it, it was bizarre! and we finished the night making sausages in the fire and I had 2 bottles of wine! The thing is that they were giving Asha the hard bread and now she is sick and vomiting!
The next day we went to Cadaqués as we had to be at Dali’s house at 1.10, and I had a really bad hangover. And you will see all that in the next post. Or I forgot about Ben and the seagull. A seagull decided that she liked our hubcap and started pecking it and Ben told her off but the seagull keep coming back. It was hilarious!
