Spain – Malaga – Marbella – Puerto Banús (En)
Our friends who have the rural house were sick so instead of going to Cordoba last weekend we went to see Puerto Banús and San Pedro, and here you can see Puerto Banús.
Puerto Banús is a luxury marina, one of the most important in the world. You can see countless things in Puerto Banús, starting with Julio Iglesias Avenue, where the famous La Victoria sculpture is located. It is a 30-metre statue by the sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, although it is popularly known as the Statue of the Russian. From the beach of Puerto Banús, you can see the famous mountain of Marbella called la Concha and the lighthouse. And from the lighthouse, you can enjoy incredible views of the harbour.
Puerto Banús is famous for its ostentatious pleasure boats and you can also take excursions to see the dolphins, a unique experience in a unique place. Walking through the port you will see the main street where there are white houses that simulate an Andalusian town, something that José Banús thought about when he built the iconic, most exclusive port on the Costa del Sol. On that same street, you will find luxury shops and more than one high-end car. As for restaurants, although there are places of a very high level, you can also find very varied options. By the way, the port was full of giant colour bear statues!
At the other end of the port is José Banús Avenue, a very wide and pleasant area also known as Bulevar de la Fama. When looking at the floor you will see some tiles with some characteristic starfish. With them, homage is made to different famous people. In this area is a promenade that follows the beach until reaches San Pedro and here you will find more affordable bars and restaurants.
And in the next post you can see San Pedro de Alcantara which is part of Marbella town council.
