Our review

Zamora has two free motorhome areas, one very small; we stayed in the larger one, on Calle Pisones. It's a good site for visiting the town and staying a few days, and all the services work – really good for a free site.

It's next to a huge park with exercise equipment, a community garden, a children's playground and a very affordable bar, and dogs can run off the lead. There's a water filling and emptying point, public toilets and drinking fountains, with rubbish bins opposite the entrance. You can choose a sunny pitch or one under the trees; some are completely level, others need ramps – we chose a level one by the trees.

A supermarket is 2 or 3 minutes' walk away, and in 5 minutes you're at the castle and the cathedral in the old town, full of Romanesque buildings. We highly recommend it for visiting this magnificent city.

Good to know

The entrance and exit are narrow, so take care.
