Our review
A fantastic campsite for visiting Salamanca – we stayed five days. The owners, two sisters, are incredibly nice and helpful, and the facilities are clean and new, with the best showers we've ever had: good pressure and adjustable temperature. There's hot water for washing up, and a washing machine.
The pitches are large, and you can choose shade under the trees or sun; there's also an open, sunny area for long motorhomes – we had to take the motorbike off the back of ours to fit. Drinking water is next to the pitches, and the points for the chemical toilet and for filling and emptying water are easy to reach. There's a huge visitors' car park at the entrance, handy for a car.
There's a restaurant with a terrace – book for dinner, served from 7pm; there's no need to book for breakfast or lunch – and a shop for bread and other essentials. The swimming pool was closed when we were there. The Wi-Fi is included and worked well, but the mobile signal wasn't strong.
The river runs alongside the campsite and forms a small sandy beach where you can swim, next to a park with a children's playground. The town centre is about 20 minutes by bike along a cycle path, 10 by motorbike or 45 on foot. Note that the campsite is closed from 6 November to 1 March.
Top tips
