Who we are
Motorhome Life is the travel website of Ben & Cristina. The person responsible for your personal data (the "controller") is Cristina Fernández, whom you can reach at admin@motorhomelife.eu. Her full details are in the legal notice.
We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spain's data protection law (LOPDGDD). We collect as little as we can, and we never sell your details.
What we collect, and why
Messages and feedback
When you use the contact form, tell us a post was "not for you", or send us feedback on the website, we keep what you send: your message and, where you give them, your name and email address, with the page you sent it from. We use them only to read and answer your message. When we reply, the email holds a private link to the conversation, which works for 30 days after our latest reply.
Why we may: to answer your request, and our legitimate interest in hearing from readers. How long: for as long as we need to deal with your message and keep a record of the conversation.
Comments
When you comment on a post, we keep your name, email address and comment, with your IP address and browser details to help us stop spam. Your name and comment are shown on the website; your email address never is.
Why we may: you choose to publish the comment, and our legitimate interest in keeping spam out. How long: for as long as the post is online, or until you ask us to remove it.
The newsletter
If you subscribe, we keep your email address, your name if you give it, your language, where and when you signed up, your IP address at sign-up and your confirmation — so that we can show you agreed. You only start receiving emails after you click the link in our confirmation email. We count whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked, to see what readers find useful. Every email has a link to unsubscribe at once.
Why we may: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. How long: until you unsubscribe.
Reactions
Reactions to a post (like, love and so on) are counted without knowing who you are. A cookie remembers your reactions for 30 days, so you can change them. If you choose to give your name and email address with a reaction, we keep them and clear them after 12 months without any activity.
Visits
We count how many times each post is read, without storing anything about you. When someone asks for a page that does not exist, we note the address and the page that linked to it, to fix broken links — not who you are.
Our hosting company keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) for security.
We use these Google services. Google LLC also processes the data under its own privacy policy.
- Advertising (Google AdSense). The adverts pay for the website. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads, and, if you agree, to personalise them. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks you first. It follows the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework, and lets you accept, refuse or choose purpose by purpose.
- Statistics (Google Analytics). Where Google's consent message is shown, Google Analytics only loads if you agree. It tells us how the website is used: which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from and on what devices.
- Maps (Google Maps). Our map only loads Google Maps when you click "Show the map", or after you tick "Always show Google maps on this device". Loading it sends your IP address to Google.
- Spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA). Our forms use reCAPTCHA to tell people from automated spam, which sends information about your visit to Google.
You can change your choices at any time with the "Privacy and cookie settings" link at the bottom of the website's pages, or Google's own button in the corner of the screen. The cookie policy lists the cookies involved.
Who else handles your data
- FastComet hosts the website, its database and our email.
- Google, for the services above.
We do not sell, rent or trade your details. Google may process data outside the EU, including in the United States. Such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy to take elsewhere. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To do any of these, email admin@motorhomelife.eu or use the contact form.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD), or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
This website is not aimed at children. If you are under 14, please ask a parent or guardian before sending us your details.
Changes
We may update this policy when the website changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
