Our review
León has three motorhome areas. We chose this one, on Avenida de Peregrinos, because it's next to a shopping centre with a Mercadona supermarket and toilets, there's a launderette nearby, and it takes motorhomes up to 8 metres long. It's a great location for visiting the city on foot or by bike: the León Museum is 5 minutes away, and the cathedral about 10 minutes beyond that.
It costs 5 euros, paid through an app or at the machine. Display the ticket in your windscreen – inspectors come round several times a day. There are 23 motorhome spaces, all level, with a point for filling and emptying grey and black water, and bins, but no electricity. The rest is a car park, and cars park in front of the motorhomes, which can make it hard to get out – we left very early, before they arrived.
Arrive in the morning, as it fills up later. There's a park right next to it for walking dogs, and bakeries, cafés and bars close by. A motorhome mechanic comes past and leaves his phone number – it came in handy for us.
