Our review
The best thing about this site is its location: right next to the Roman theatre and amphitheatre, a 5-minute walk from the Mérida Museum and 10 minutes from the centre, with shops and restaurants close by. It's next to the tourist office, where you can buy tickets for all the monuments – 12 euros for the Roman theatre, or 17 euros for six sights around the town.
For a car park, though, we found it expensive, and it was really hot: there are no trees and no shade, which made it almost unbearable inside the motorhome without air conditioning. There's one point for filling and emptying water, easy to reach and use, and there are rubbish bins. We didn't use the electricity.
The best pitches are in the first row, where the back of the motorhome can overhang for more space, but most are very sloping, so you'll need ramps. Next to the site is the "children's city", a huge playground. The free Wi-Fi comes from the Roman theatre and is very poor – use your own 4G.
Top tips
Bring ramps – most of the pitches slope.
Good to know
There's no shade at all, and it gets very hot.

A great base for the Roman theatre and amphitheatre and the museum, with shops and restaurants in the square, and for the town centre and the Temple of Diana.
