Our review
A great free site: the electricity works really well, everything is close by, and it's safe and quiet to sleep. The area is huge and good for large motorhomes over 8 metres. Six pitches next to the water point have electric hook-ups and are level; you can park anywhere in the rest of the site.
We arrived around 7pm to see the mechanic next door – we needed one – parked next to the pitches with electricity, and the next morning moved onto one with no problem. The drinking water tap wasn't working (someone had broken it, and the villagers said they'd ask the town hall to fix it), but you can use the tap at the chemical toilet point.
There's a Spar supermarket right next door and a restaurant 2 minutes away, and the village centre is a 5-minute walk. It's a lovely village, with friendly, very helpful people and a ham museum.
Top tips
If the six electric pitches are taken, park next to them overnight and move onto one when it's free in the morning.
Good to know
Only six pitches have electricity; the rest of the area has plenty of space.
