Our review

A really good campsite in the nature reserve: very clean, very safe and good value at 20 euros a day, all included – but payment is cash only. The pitches are really big and level, though there's little shade, and some have a water tap. It's busy, so book ahead and they'll let you choose from the pitches available.

The facilities are spotless: unisex toilets with seats and paper, individual shower cubicles plus a bigger one with room to change, good hot water and adequate pressure, a dishwashing area with hot water, and a washing machine and dryer. The chemical toilet point is at the side of the facility block, and there are drinking water taps around the site. The one thing missing is grey water disposal, so empty before you arrive. The Wi-Fi costs 1 euro a day and isn't great, and the 4G isn't excellent either.

There's an outdoor games area with ping-pong, football and a pétanque court. Turn right out of the campsite and a restaurant 200 to 300 metres away marks the start of a nature reserve path that takes you to the beach in 20 minutes; turn left and the beach is 1.5 km. Oye-Plage and a Lidl are 2 km away, and Grand-Fort-Philippe is 15 minutes by bike.

Top tips

Empty your grey water before you arrive – there's nowhere to do it here.

Good to know

Cash only. No grey water disposal.

About the wifi

Things nearby

Turn right out of the campsite for a restaurant 300 metres away; from there a path through the nature reserve reaches the beach in 20 minutes. Turn left and the beach is 1.5 km. Oye-Plage is 2 km away.

About the location

It's easy to reach the town and the beach by bike. A bigger town, 15 minutes by bike, is really nice, with shops and a beach.
