Belgium – Bruges – Part II (En)

We went to Markt square and choose a restaurant to wait for my friends to arrive. We wanted to eat the famous Belgium mussels, so Ben and I shared two bowls of mussels, one with white wine, cream and garlic and the other with provencal salsa with tomatoes, onions and peppers. Javi ate steak with chips and Marta a bowl of mussels with white wine salsa. One of the typical Belgium mussels salsas has curry but we did not try it as it was a pretty bizarre combination. I and my friends had sangria and Ben beer. I have to say the sangria is different in Cataluña, France and Belgium than in the South of Spain, and for me, it is so much nicer as it doesn’t have gas at all. We think it has brown sugar and Brandy.

After lunch, we keep tourism the city, its canals and streets. Bruges has so much to see that you always find some new beautiful places. You can see the city on a boat through the canals but it is impossible to make Asha go inside a boat.

We finished in the mini waterpark, one of the most beautiful places in Bruges having a drink. I kept with sangria and Ben and Javi drank a Belgium beer really expensive (13 euros) but really nice (I tried it and it was really good, even when I do not like beer) and very strong as when Ben finished it he was a little tipsy! And there we said goodbye to our friends. Thank you very much to come to see us, we had an amazing time and hope to see you soon again. Last time I saw Marta and Javi was in 2013 when I went to see them in Brussels!

Saturday we relaxed in Bruges and on Sunday we left for France, first stopping at the Loire Valley before going to the coast. And you can see this in the next post.
