Holland – Delft (En)
After Gouda, we thought of going to see Rotterdam but all the places where we could park with the motorhome have really bad comments, people were told that for 2 hours gone to see the city when they come back their windows and locks were broken and their things stolen. So we decided to go to see the city of Delft instead.
Delft is a canal-ringed city in the western Netherlands, is known as the manufacturing base for Delftware, hand-painted blue and white pottery. In ist old town, the medieval Oude Kerk is the burial site of native son and Dutch Master painter Johannes Vermeer. The 15th-century Nieuwe Kerk house the family’s tombs and overlooks Delft’s lively market square.
We parked next to the river and walked to the city centre, passing many canal streets really cute, bars and shops and churches until we arrived at the city square.
From Delft, we went to Zeeland which is the westernmost and least populous province of the Netherlands. The province located in the southwest of the country borders Belgium to the south and west. And this is in the next post!
