Our review
A free car park in a great location for visiting Fano – the historic centre is just 5 minutes' walk away, with shops, restaurants, museums and an amazing old town. On Sundays the whole old town fills with a second-hand street market, which is really cool.
The trouble is the cars. There are supposed to be spaces for motorhomes, but cars park wherever they like and take most of them, so it's busy and tight – if you arrive mid-morning, it's hard to find a space. The best and biggest spaces are along the sides and at the entrance; if you're over 8 metres, you'll need two.
There's a point for filling and emptying water and the chemical toilet in an area in front of the car park, but it's dirty, and there are bins in the car park. It's good for a day to visit this beautiful town – and it's free, so enjoy it.

Arrive early – by mid-morning the cars have taken most of the spaces.
