Town Campsite Veselí nad Lužnicí

We stayed at what they call the town campsite: a grassy area outside the bar, on the riverbank and outside a beer garden that gets lively in the afternoons, as the townspeople come to fish, picnic and kayak – and three minutes' walk from the town centre. They charged us 18 euros, plus 2 for the dog, which seems very expensive to us, as the facilities are quite rustic.

The toilet is fine, with paper and a door that closes, but the showers are all in a row, with no doors or curtains – anyone who comes in sees you naked in the shower! We didn't find anywhere to empty the water; the chemical toilet can be emptied in the toilets, and to fill up, the man at the beach bar opened a point for your hose. In short, it's expensive – but the bar and the guesthouse restaurant are very good, with good, very cheap typical food.

As an anecdote: on our second day, the police came to tell us to move further onto the grass, because a circus was being set up where we were parked. The circus follows us from country to country!
