Our review
We stayed at Camping Bayerwald, in the Bavarian Forest, in a lovely spot with hiking trails. It's more than 3 km on foot to the town, but the campsite ticket gets you on the bus at the gate free. The campsite was being built on, but the work didn't bother us. The toilets and showers are luxurious, with a washing machine and dryer for 4 euros, a washing-up area and a dog shower. There's a playground and a charming petting zoo with ponies, rabbits and more, and a typical restaurant with a terrace.
Emptying grey and black water is free, but water is 1 euro for 100 litres and electricity 80 cents a kWh. The price depends on whether you stay in the lower area, near the facilities, or upstairs: we were told upstairs was more or less 20 euros a day plus the water and electricity, and below 38! We stayed upstairs, but when we went to pay they told us it was 25 euros a day, with the tourist tax. We weren't happy at all!
