Our review
The only campsite in Châlons-en-Champagne, and a good base for visiting the town: a bus stops at the entrance (1.20 euros to the centre, which is quite far on foot), and there's a chemist, a bakery and a small supermarket right next to the entrance. It's a good campsite with good facilities, but quite expensive in high season.
If you don't want electricity, you can't choose your pitch, but they'll give you a very big, shaded one; we asked for shade, but the pitch was too small and we had to move to one with less shade. The best pitches are those with electricity and a water tap, some very big. There are two buildings with showers, toilets, washing machines and a dishwashing area, several chemical toilet points, and a good, easy grey and black water disposal area. Watch out for mosquitoes in the evening.
There's a restaurant with simple food, open all day, a games room with pool and table football, a TV room with books, a ping-pong table and a basketball court, and a very nice dog park (dogs are 2 euros). The Wi-Fi only works at reception.
Top tips
Take the bus into town – it stops at the entrance and costs 1.20 euros.

Without electricity you can't choose your pitch. Dogs are 2 euros.
