Our review
A campsite with all the facilities you need, 2 km from the town and right next to the beach. We stayed five nights, at 17.50 euros a day without electricity (21 with). The staff are great: the owner told us what to visit, which beaches to go to and where to eat good fish (she recommended Alikes), and gave us a map of the area. The one shame was the restaurant, which has incredible views, a centuries-old olive tree and steps down to the beach – it was closed, and opens in mid-May.
The bigger pitches are in the middle, with less grass and close to the facilities. Some pitches are grassy – the staff cut it every day, but some is still tall, with little flowers. The showers have excellent pressure and hot water, though you can't hang up the shower head, and the toilets have seats and paper. There's a dishwashing area with hot water and a washing machine for 5 euros. The filling and emptying area is at the entrance, and at each toilet block there's drinking water – you can fill your tank there – a bin, and the chemical toilet in the corner. The free Wi-Fi needs no password and works most of the time, though it sometimes drops; the mobile signal is excellent. The small shop sells bread, and you can order prepared meals.
Stairs lead down to the beach, which has lots of seaweed and pebbles. The town, Kato Achaia, is 2 km away, with plenty of shops, restaurants and supermarkets, and a fishing port 5 km away has really good restaurants. You need a bike or a motorbike to get around – with ours we visited the town, the port and the beaches nearby.
