Our review
The best thing about this site was the friendly woman at reception: she spoke very good English and Spanish, and helped us change pitches. The campsite is next to the Sarthe river, a 10-minute walk from the town centre – we recommend walking into town along the river, which is beautiful.
The pitches are huge, with plenty of room for an awning, a table and chairs, and for a dog to play. For us the best are the hardstanding pitches in front of the facilities; the others are grass and can be difficult to get into. The facilities are clean: the toilets have seats and paper, and the showers are hot, but the pressure is low. There's a dishwashing area with hot water and a washing machine.
There's also a communal area with a TV and somewhere to read, a kettle, a fridge and a microwave, plus table football and ping-pong – it's the only place with Wi-Fi. The area for filling and emptying water is just before the campsite entrance. We'd recommend it for visiting Alençon, a charming town.
Top tips
Choose a hardstanding pitch in front of the facilities – the grass ones can be difficult to get into.
Good to know
The Wi-Fi only works in the communal area.
