Our review
The best thing about this camping-car area is the location: you can walk into Niort, an interesting town to visit. A large Leclerc supermarket is a 10-minute walk one way, and the city centre and the castle are 15 minutes the other.
The charge is 14.70 euros, collected early the next morning. We arrived on Saturday morning and nobody came to collect on Sunday, so the weekend was free – we left early on Monday and didn't pay anything. There's an area for filling and emptying water, rubbish bins and electricity.
Be warned: the space for manoeuvring is very narrow, especially on the corners. We clipped our passenger-side mirror, so take care. We'd recommend it for seeing the city.
Top tips
Take the corners slowly – the space for manoeuvring is very narrow.
Good to know
The maximum length is 8.30 metres, and the corners are tight.

About the location
Niort is an interesting place to visit. Start in the Place de la Brèche, with the town market, shops and restaurants. South of the square is the Donjon, part of a medieval castle and Niort's most important monument – it dates from the 12th century and is one of the largest castles of its time in France.
