Dordogne – The Marqueyssac gardens (En)
Yesterday Saturday we went to see the Marqueyssac gardens. They are located on the top of a mountain and there is a lookout at 192 metres. The first thing you see when you are inside the gardens is the chateau where they explain to you how the gardens are done and what the gardeners do to maintain them. The gardeners only use hand scissors. Inside the chateau, you can see the different rooms and next to the chateau is a restaurant with amazing views. To see all the gardens and arrive at the lookout takes several hours.
They gave us a map to follow the different routes and we started our way. We went following the route to the lookout and we saw a statue really cool, and a cabin and fountains and waterfalls. From the lookout, you can see all our camping and the town of La Roque-Gageac. It is amazing!
We keep going around the gardens and we found a place with hammocks, so we tried them! And then we saw a hanging bridge that you can do part of the way so we decided to do it! The hanging bridge was pretty high in the middle and it moves a lot! It was pretty fun! We keep going until we arrived at the end of the gardens where there was a kind of a tower.
We arrived at the entrance in a different way where there was a labyrinth, peacocks and an original dinosaurian skeleton apart from the head that was too heavy to add.
And we finished our visit to the gardens. Today we are going to have a swimm at the pool, play ping pong and go to the top of the town to see it. And tomorrow we are going to a town called Domme. So more in the next post!
