Christmas in Marbella (En)

We came to Marbella to spend Christmas with my family, and we were surprised by how beautiful the city was, with lights, Christmas markets, Santa’s house, and a music light show in the Orange Square.

What to see

We went first during the day and found a great Christmas atmosphere. We went by motorbike and parked in the centre. We were surprised to see a Christmas market on the avenue with the Dalí statues that leads down to the beach, with Christmas carols and everything decorated.

In the Alameda, there was a gigantic nativity scene, a fully illuminated carousel, and Santa’s house where children could make their wishes.

There we met up with our friends Carmen and Phil and went to the old town and the Orange Square, where there were two beautiful, gigantic angels. We finished our walk in the Castle square, where there was a flamenco show in which a friend of Carmen’s was going to dance. The plaza was full of people, and they were giving away cherries and chocolates to anyone who wanted them. Ben and I tried the sherry, and Phil and Carmen had the chocolates.

The next day, in the afternoon, Ben and I went for a walk along the beach to watch the sunset and see Marbella lit up.

We arrived at the market on the avenue of the Dalí statues, and it was much livelier and prettier than during the day, with everything lit up, Christmas carols and activities for children.

The Alameda was also beautiful with the lovely lights.

But the best was yet to come in Orange Square, where the Town Hall was illuminated with a Merry Christmas sign, and the angels lit up to the rhythm of Christmas music. Spectacular!

We finished our tour eating some roasted chestnuts, which I hadn’t eaten for years and which were delicious.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Enjoy the holidays, and may the new year bring you happiness. See you in 2026 with new adventures and places!
