Germany – Black Forest – Durbach (En)
Durbach known for its Riesling wine, is one of the most beautiful wine-growing towns on the edge of the Black Forest. The nice and expansive vineyards are right outside the door!
Where to stay
We stayed in the motorhome area of āāthe town (48.493698, 8.01037 lat, long). It’s 8 euros a day, plus 1.50 euros for 8 hours of electricity if you want it. It can be filled and emptied for free. The area is located among vineyards, wide and green, a 3-minute walk to the town, which is a street crossed by canals, very beautiful!
What to see
The town is just a beautiful street with canals running through it and typical houses of the area, with a church and many wineries and restaurants.
There are many wineries to taste wine and Ralf and Gaby took us to the Durbacher Winery where we tried white wine and Ben’s red wines. Ralf and Stewart each bought a case of white wine.
From the town, you can see Staufenberg Castle in the distance on the mountain, located about 380 meters high. Built already in the 11th century, it belongs to the market of the counts of Baden and it is assumed that wine has been grown here since the mid-14th century. Currently, there is a restaurant, a wine tavern and a farm shop.
Thus ended our tour through the black forest and we went towards Lake Constance and its magnificent towns that you can see in the following blogs!
