Greece – Peloponnese – Kyllini Golden Beach (En)

The locals call Kyllini the “Golden Beach” because of its golden sands and sunsets. The exotic Kyllini Golden Beach is one of the most beautiful Greek beaches earning every year the blue flag for its clean water. Its golden sand and its length of 6 km give its visitors a magnificent feeling of relaxation. The beach is sandy all the way into the sea, and quite shallow along the coast. The beach is perfect for long walks on the soft sand and a drink at sunset when the sun sinks into the sea.

We parked free at Café Kalamias (37.87339, 21.109934 lat, long) which is a tavern. It is just 100 m from the beach with sunbeds and parasols, 2 sunbeds 5 euros, pretty good. The tavern is great, they provided you with electricity, toilets and 4 outside showers, all free, you just have to drink or eat something in the tavern.

We stayed 3 days and we dedicated ourselves to enjoying the beach, and its sunbeds, swimming in the turquoise waters and trying the Greek food in the tavern. We tried their special dishes: the typical tomatoes and peppers stuffed with feta cheese and rice, the grilled octopus, a dish of aubergine stuffed with feta cheese and chicken with mushrooms and veggies in cream, lemon and white wine sauce. All excellent, with great hummus and free dessert!

Our next stop is Kalogria Beach located in Northwestern Peloponnese near the village Araxos, which you can see in the next post!
