Greece – Peloponnese – Gialova (En)
Gialova is a small picturesque settlement in Navarino Bay, north of Pylos. Many important historical events took place in this area. Until today the visitor might see the remains from the shipwrecks of the Battleship of Navarino in 1827 while snorkelling on the nearby beaches. Today in this lovely village agriculture and tourism are the main economical activities.
We stayed at Camping Navarino (36.947701, 21.706301) just 3 minutes walk to the town and right on the beach. We gave it only 4 stars because it is really expensive, we paid 24 euros per day without electricity, with electricity was 29 euros and from 1st July the price go up. Also, you have to shower while holding the shower head. Otherwise, the facilities are really good, clean and modern, with a kitchen with fridge and freezer and a mini market. So we stayed only 2 days and left on the 1st of July.
We went walking with Asha to the town where you will find some of the most beautiful hotels in the Peloponnese, restaurants, cafes, bars, hospitable people and the famous Gialova Beach, next to the port. The bay keeps the big Ionian waves out. And at most places, the water is quite shallow.
We decided to free parking and we went to Kalo Nero a town in the Municipio of Trifylia, endowed with beaches with crystal blue waters that attract even the turtles Caretta Caretta, which you can see in the next post!
