Spain – Galicia – Villagarcía de Arosa (En)

On Friday we arrived at Villagarcía de Arosa in the province of Pontevedra where we stayed until Sunday. The town has traces of the Celtic population that inhabited the place in different castros, whose remains can still be visited in the surroundings. Today has intense economic activity based on maritime trade and trade fairs and congress activity as it is the headquarters of Fexdega, one of the largest fairgrounds in Galicia and where is the motorhome area where we parked. The old town has numerous parks and gardens and the promenade has many bars and restaurants.

We walked the old town which has walls and amazing buildings with bridges to cross the roads and where you can find the Convent and Pazo of Vista Alegre. We also saw the main town market with amazing seafood and a street market selling all kinds of things.

The next two days we saw the promenade and the harbour where we had some drinks in a bar on the top of the sea and some tapas in a bar on the promenade where we met some local people and had a nice chat with them. We also walked the rest of the town and saw the Town Hall and the centre city church.

And yesterdat Monday we arrived at Pontevedra where we are now and you can see it in the next post.
