El Port de la Selva & Camping L’Arola (En)

We arrived at the town called Port de la Selva and at the Camping L’Arola through a mountain road really beautiful and without problems. The camping is right next to the beach and very simple, the owner called Gracia is very anarchist and told us that we don’t need to register and there are no rules in the camping, so you can do whatever you want respecting the others. Asha could go every place in the camping and play with Gracia’s dogs which are very old, so not very playful. The facilities are rustic, the toilets and showers are good but the area for washing the dishes is very bad and does not have hot water. Also, there is no washing machine, so couldn’t wash our clothes. But the location is amazing! The camping is just at the beginning of the town, so you can walk to the town and also to the lighthouse via the Ronda way which is beautiful. We recommend it if you just want to stay for 3 or 4 days.

The only bad thing is when we just arrive Asha started to vomit, Gracia gave us a pill for her but she did not want to eat anything all day. The next day, she was a little better and ate a little food so we gave her the pill but she did not recover until the third day.

The town is very nice, a fishing town so the fish is amazing here. It is a typical town with the church on the top and the shops and restaurants in front of the beach and the harbour.

When Asha was feeling better we went to the lighthouse, 5 kilometres in total. To arrive there you follow the Ronda way which is beautiful and we did a picnic with sandwiches in a forest looking at the lighthouse.

And today, our last day here and in Spain, we did the Ronda way from the end of the town, where you pass beach coves with the water clean with views of the seafloor. All really nice, when we arrived back in the town we had lunch in a very nice restaurant with views of the town and beach. We had sea bream with veggies and for dessert, Ben tried for the first time the Catalan cream and I had coffee ice cream. The fish in these towns are delicious!

And now having a drink with Gracia to finish our adventure in Spain. Tomorrow we are going to France, to the Dordoyne (Dordogne in French) to a natural park near the town called Rocamadour in the Foret des Singes. The French people have told us that this area is amazing, and the town Rocamadour is really beautiful and cool. So France in the next post. BYE BYE SPAIN, HELLO FRANCE! Yuhuuuu
