Our review
We stayed at Camping Vrachos, in the village of Kastraki. The swimming pool, where you get the best views of Meteora, was still closed. The facilities were OK, but the water in the women's showers wasn't warm enough (Ben says the men's was fine), and the staff's directions for visiting the monasteries weren't much use – we had to ask a German man staying at the campsite.
In general it was pretty good, with a very cute Greek taverna, barbecue areas with tables and sunshades where you can cook, and really cute black squirrels. The best thing is the location: it's in the village, and the bus to the monasteries stops at the campsite gate. The bus is only 1.60 euros, and the views are amazing!
Top tips
