Spain – Malaga – Marbella – Tapas Route (En)

Finally, last Thursday, November 10, we returned to Marbella, my hometown. Marbella is a city on the Costa del Sol, in southern Spain, which belongs to the Andalusia region. The Sierra Blanca mountains are the backdrop to the 27 km of sandy beaches on the Mediterranean. Because it is located between the mountain and the beach, Marbella has its own climate, never as hot or cold as in Malaga city.

We parked near the beach and stayed for a few days to see my family and some friends. We discovered that Marbella had been chosen as the Destination City of 2022 and it was the tapas route that weekend. The tapas route consists of bars and restaurants giving a free tapa with the drink, each bar provides a different tapa and you voted for the one you liked the most. We went to the old town which is beautiful at night to try some tapas and tried a tapa of ham skewer with prawns and mushrooms, a tapa of chicken curry with rice and the last one was eggplant cannelloni with vegetables and cream cheese. The best was the last one.

On Saturday we went to see my mother and to have lunch with our friends Elena and David. They took us to a new fish restaurant where Ben, Elena and I shared red mullet, anchovies, marinated dogfish, fried pink hake and baby squid. David had meat and a hamburger. Later we went to have some drinks where we met more people. A great day seeing friends and meeting Koko, the new little dog of Elena.

On Sunday we were with my family and on Tuesday we came to Tropical camping located between Marbella and Estepona. And you can see more of Marbella in the next post!
