Cotswold – Chipping Campden (En)

Chipping Campden is a market town in the Cotswold district of Gloucestershire. It is notable for its terraced High Street, dating from the 14th century to the 17th century. The High Street is lined with buildings built from locally quarried oolitic limestone known as a Cotswold stone. Much of the town centre is a conservation area which has helped to preserve the original buildings. One of the oldest buildings in the town is the Market Hall, built-in 1627 and still in use as you will see in the pictures.

The pubs of the town are very cool, very old and with narrow alleys to go to their beer gardens. We had lunch in the beer garden of one of these pubs, where dogs are welcome, so there were a lot of dogs and Asha was happy. We had nachos with chilli with Carne, very yummy!

After lunch, we went to see the rest of the town which is decorated for the jubilee and to visit St James church with its medieval altar frontals (c. 1500) and 17th-century monuments. By the way, it is a bank holiday here in England for the jubilee, from Thursday included until Sunday.

And today Friday we are resting and cooking for the jubilee party that will be this Sunday in the urbanization. All the people of the urbanization are getting together and making a bbq and food, Ben is making lasagna, and John’s band is going to play in the evening.

And tomorrow Saturday we do not know yet what are we going to do, thinking of meeting friends and having lunch in a pub, but you will see all that in the following post!
