Germany – Lake Constance – Bodman-Ludwigshafen (En)

The geographical location of Bodman-Ludwigshafen is simply stunning: the town is located directly on the shores of the beautiful Lake Constance, with views of the impressive Alps. It offers visitors a wide variety of attractions and activities.

Where to stay

We stayed in the motorhome area of the town (47.823729, 9.051524 lat, long), 14 euros a day, electricity 2 euros and water 10 cents. Free emptying of grey and black water. The money is put in an envelope and left in a mailbox in the building on the side of the area. 10 minutes walk to the town and 15 to the beautiful port. The location is great and spacious to put chairs and tables outside. Recommended.

What to see

We walked and came across the clock tower, quite impressive, and the 18th-century parish church of Saint Martinus, known for its magnificent interior. We couldn’t enter because it was closed.

The highlight is undoubtedly the port of Ludwigshafen, where you can enjoy a cold drink, which we did, and enjoy the wonderful lake views. Numerous restaurants and cafes serve regional specialities, such as fresh fish from the lake. There are also statues and a mural, the most impressive being the statue of Yolanda, which impressed Stewart so much that he couldn’t stop talking about it the entire trip!

The next stop is Meersburg, a small medieval town at the foot of Lake Constance, which you can see in the next blog!
