L’Estartit – Camping Emporda (En)
We arrived in L’Estartit town and we stayed at camping Empordà which is located at the beginning of the town, so only 10 minutes or less walking to the beach, centre and harbour. The camping is the more modern camping we have stayed for now. The facilities are amazing, clean and very nice. Also, they do exercise every morning at 10 am, things such as Zumba, Gap etc, and the first time I did it I couldn’t move the next day! There is a massive swimming pool with sunbeds and chairs, where we tried to swim one day but the water was freezing! And a bar with pool tables and an air hockey table, which I played for the first time and I kick Ben’s ass in a big way, 3 to 7, yeah! It was even a concert on Saturday night, a band really good singing classics and rock, such as creep of radio head. They were very good and they did speak in English so Ben could understand. We did not want them to finish!
The camping is great so we decided to stay for Easter and the first thing we did was to go to see the town. We went walking with Asha and first, we went to the beach and from there to the harbour where are all the bars and restaurants. We had a drink in a pub where we met Vanina and JC, she is Argentinian and he is French, they live in Toulouse and they told us places to visit in France and hopefully if we pass through Toulouse we will see them.
The town is very modern and does not have an old town but it has a great variety of bars, restaurants and activities. One night we went to see the Champions football in an English pub Villarreal v Bayern and Real Madrid v Chelsea, where we met the English locals, they wanted Villareal to win. I have to say the English locals speak perfect Spanish so Ben was the only one who couldn’t speak Spanish, hahaha. And another day we went to eat Mexican.
In the harbour, people told us that we could go to the Medes Islands by boat and also that we should go to see the Gola which is a lagoon that finishes in the sea and it is very nice. So we did all this and you can see it in the next post.
