England – Evesham (En)

Evesham is a quiet medieval town on the River Avon’s banks. For centuries, the Vale of Evesham has been considered the centre of fruit and vegetable production in England. It is internationally known for its asparagus production. Of particular note is the majestic bell tower, which stands proudly next to two medieval churches, which together create a spectacular triptych of ecclesiastical architecture.

What to see

We went in the afternoon to see the Christmas decorations and started in the historic quarter next to the award-winning Abbey Park. The park is named after the site of Evesham Abbey, once the third-largest abbey in England.

We then wandered through the narrow streets of the centre where you come across the Almonry Museum and Tourist Information Centre, a 14th-century building that houses an eclectic collection that tells the story of Evesham from prehistory to the 20th century. We then reached Market Square where there are some really cool bars where we enjoyed a drink.

Then we went to see the Bell Tower and the two churches and ended up on the Christmas-decorated main street.

This concludes our visit to England and this is the last blog until next year, which we will start in France! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! See you in 2025!
