Looe is the town in the BBC mystery drama Beyond Paradise. It has a picturesque harbour, where colourful fishing boats bob in the water, and charming streets with eclectic independent shops, traditional Cornish pubs, and fresh seafood that can be enjoyed on the seafront.

What to see

In 2023, Looe took centre stage as the setting for BBC One’s new drama ‘Beyond Paradise’, a spin-off of the popular show ‘Death in Paradise’. The town’s town hall also functions as a police station and other locations used in the city include the harbour and beach with its distinctive stone pier, known as Banjo Pier, due to its shape.

We stroll through the charming streets with their cute shops and traditional pubs.

We then strolled around the picturesque harbour, where colourful fishing boats bob in the water.

What to eat

You can enjoy fresh seafood or award-winning fish and chips at local restaurants. We decided to share the traditional fish and chips as the seafood was much more expensive than in Port Isaac.
