Camping Barcelona – Barcelona (En)

We arrived at camping Barcelona that Andreas recommended in Cullera, as it has a bus that goes from the camping to the centre of Barcelona for 3.90 euros and a free shuttle that goes every half hour to Mataró city. The camping is located outside of Mataró on the beach, the facilities are really good and it has a restaurant, supermarket and a really cool swimming pool. The bus to Barcelona departs at 9 am, 10 o 10.30 am and we did arrive around 1 so we couldn’t go today. So we went to have pizzas in the restaurant. The restaurant is really cool with a fireplace inside and pool tables and a table football outside.

The next day we took the bus at 10.30 am to Barcelona and we discovered that we could take Asha with us on the bus but we did not know so we left her at the motorhome. The bus left us in Barcelona centre, near Cataluña square and las Ramblas. As we have to come back here to take the bus back to the camping we decided to go first to see Gaudi houses and la Sagrada Familia cathedral.

We had a drink in front of Sagrada Familia to rest our feet and with an amazing view of the cathedral and then we went walking to las Ramblas. On the way, we saw the arch of triumph and the gothic quarter.

We arrived at las Ramblas with our feet destroyed so we decided to have lunch first. In las Ramblas, all the restaurants offered a menu of the day from 10.90 euros to 12.50 euros of 2 tapas each as a first course and pasta, pizza or paella as the second course. We choose the seafood paella and it was delicious! The beer pint in la Rambla is a massive jug that Ben couldn’t finish!

After lunch, we walk all the Ramblas until we arrived at the harbour where is Colombo statue.

We went back to the Ramblas and we went inside to the market. The market is amazing, with all kinds of food and drinks stands, such as cheese, fruit, natural juices, seafood, ham etc. I had a fresh-squeezed watermelon juice. I really recommend visiting the market if you go to Las Ramblas.

After the market, we did our way back to the bus stop pick up. It was the first time Ben was in Barcelona and he really liked it! Especially Gaudi houses! If you go to Barcelona and go on a walking tour as we did, we recommend wearing very comfy shoes. And tomorrow Mataró.
