Altea (En)

Yesterday we went to Altea, the goal the church and the old town. More or less 40 minutes walking. We went for the avenue in front of the sea and the first thing we saw was the harbour. The avenue is full of bars and restaurants.

On the way, we saw a very cool bar with a Cristobal Colombo theme and we stopped to have a drink. By the way, the olives they gave us were awful!!

We keep going through the avenue and starting to ask how to arrive at the church and the old town. The people told us just follow the church and up and up, but the problem is that we couldn’t see the church. After asking a lot of people, and going uphill and many stairs, we arrived half-dead at the church and the old town. There are amazing views and the old town streets are beautiful, they remind me Frigiliana.

After all that walking and tourism, we asked for the restaurant La Capella, which my cousin Mila had recommended to eat the senyoret rice. All the locals told us it is the best restaurant in Altea and it is on the Michellin list since 2020. We ate as a starter sausage coca, what it is bread similar to pizza with sausages, anchovies and tomatoes, really nice. And for main the senyoret rice which is similar to arroz a la banda in Malaga. It was really good, Ben love it! But for me, the black rice in Alicante was better.

When we were on our way back we lost but I don’t know what we did that after a while we found ourselves back in the harbour, so we did a shortcut 🙂

And that was our day in Altea. Today our legs are killing us so we have used the motorbike and rest, preparing our adventure for tomorrow. Btw, no more rice until Valencia!
