Greece – Mytikas (En)
Mytikas is a small coastal village built on a pointed piece of land on the west coast of Aetoloakarnania, facing the Ionian Sea and the serene islands of Kalamos and Kastos. It has a small fishing harbour and is the ideal holiday destination for those seeking tranquillity and relaxation.
We stayed at Camping Ionion (38.671055, 20.952489 lat, long) in front of the beach and just 3 minutes to the harbour and town. We paid 24 euros per day including electricity. The place is like a little village of campers and very rustic, it is very cute with all the customizations the people have made to their areas. There is a tavern and local vans come selling bread, fruit and veggies. The showers are good, but you cannot empty your tank water and toilets without paper or seats.
We went walking to the harbour and town and we had lunch in a front beach tavern with amazing views. Of course, we shared sardines which were yummy! and grilled octopus. We went back to the camping beach where we had a nice swim. By the way, you need beach shoes for this beach as there are pebbles.
The next stop is Parga, a popular little town on the Ionian Coast, for its beauty and geography, which you can see in the next post!
