Paella Casa Salvador y Castellón (En)
Last Sunday my cousin Manolo and his girlfriend Teresa came to our camping to pick us up to go to eat paella. First, we went for a walk on the beach with Asha and to have some beers. Then we went back to the camping so Manolo and Teresa could see the motorhome. They really liked it! My cousin Mila could not come, but we were in contact with her all day via WhatsApp.
Then we went to the restaurant called Casa Salvador, it is a very famous restaurant in Cullera, renowned for its paellas and rice dishes. The restaurant started many years ago in a little typical Valencia house, with typical roofs and wood. Now it has expanded, with a big parking and a big terrace looking the river. The interior is amazing, with the pointed roofs and wood. You need to book as it was totally full. We ate the mixed paella with chicken and seafood. The typical Valencia paella is with rabbit and chicken, but I do not eat rabbit. It was yummy, with chicken, typical Valencian beans that I never tried before, artichokes, langoustines, prawns and other veggies. It was delicious! The place is beautiful, the sea just next to the restaurant and the restaurant terrace looking at the river. The views of the river are spectacular. we really recommend going to Casa Salvador to eat paella.
After lunch, we went to have some cocktails. Teresa and I had the tequila sunrise, the first time I tried it and I really liked it! Then my cousin took us back to the camping around 8 pm and we say bye to him and Teresa. We had an amazing time with my cousins in Valencia, and it was great to finally meet them! They are really nice people. It has been an amazing experience that I hope to repeat soon! We will meet them again!!!
And our adventure in Cullera and Valencia finished! The next day we went to Castellon. Andreas came also as the idea was to go to see the Magdalena fiestas in the city. It was pissing down all the way to Castellon harbour, where we stayed in free parking for motorhomes next to the beach. We recommend the place, is free, with toilets and you can empty the water and fill it up. Also, it is a bus next to the parking to go to the centre of the city. As it was torrential rain we decided to stay in the motorhome. We did teach Andreas to play a game of cards and we had a really nice evening playing and drinking and snacking.
Tuesday we said bye to Andreas. He was going back to Germany due to the bad weather here. It looks like that Germany is having better weather than here. And we decided to go to Peñiscola, a town still in Castellon province and before to Tarragona. My cousin Mila recommend it. So in the next post you will see this amazing and beautiful town!
