Spain – Cambrils (En)

We went on the motorbike to Cambrils, a coastal town that surprised us with its port and its seafront promenade, the liveliest area of Cambrils, with many interesting things and a wide range of bars and restaurants.

What to see

We parked the motorbike at the entrance to the Old Town, which you enter through a gate in the ancient walls. The Old Town is made up of colourful alleyways, squares with statues, and very affordable bars and restaurants.

Walking down a wide avenue, you reach the seafront promenade and the port, the liveliest area of Cambrils. You arrive directly at Horta de Santa Maria Beach, with views of the port and the lighthouse.

The first thing we noticed was the Cambrils Letters, where we took the typical tourist photos, ha ha ha.

In the port, full of fishing boats, we came across a rather strange sculpture; we honestly don’t know what it’s about, but we took a few photos.

Then we explored the area with bars and restaurants, where we came across the Port Tower, a 17th-century tower built to defend against pirate attacks and protect the town’s residents. The last pirate attack on Cambrils occurred in 1799.

Next to the tourist office is the Fisherman’s Park. It’s a very nice park, with many trails, an old fishing boat, and a Caribbean-style restaurant.

With Cambrils, we finished our visit to this area and went to Maçanet de la Selva, in Girona, which stands out for its rich medieval heritage and natural surroundings. You’ll be able to see it in the next blog post.
