Scotland – Fraserburgh – North Sea (En)
Fraserburgh is a fishing town in the more North point of Scotland in the North Sea where the Museum of the lighthouses is. In the town, there are 3 lighthouses. We stayed 2 days in the Fraserburgh Caravan Park, just in front of the sea, with the beach on one side and the harbour on the other and the town centre just 5 minutes walking. The facilities of the camping are great, all really near because the camping is small and the old Scottish couple running the place are the nicest! So if you go to Fraserburgh we really recommend staying here. By the way, there is no night, so we pass 2 days without night, pretty cool.
On our first day after settling in, we went for lunch. They recommend us to go to a restaurant called Captain Table for fish and seafood. On our way to the restaurant, we saw the church, really amazing. We had lobster, langoustines, stuffed mushrooms and scallops, with a bottle of white Pinot Grigio and we finished with a cheesecake. All delicious! And the waitress really nice and friendly, so go there if you have the chance!
After lunch, we went to see the rest of the town and the harbour and the 3 lighthouses.
The next day we went first to the beach so Asha can play. The beach is huge and really nice but we were really shocked when we saw a lot of people in swimming suits and going swimming on the beach! Really brave people, we were wearing coats and hats as you can see in the picture!
Then we went to the harbour as they told us we could see the seals there. We saw a lot seals but to take pictures is really difficult as the seals coming in and out of the water really quick. As we were in the harbour we bouth monkfish, halibut and fishcakes for dinner later.
And the next day we went to the Loch Ness following the Loch Ness trail and stopping on the way to see more amazing places!
