Castle Gardens, Birthday and Claudia visit (En)

On Sunday was my birthday and we went to celebrate by having a meal in the old town and seeing the castle gardens. As it was late when we left we went first to lunch. We had lunch in a restaurant called Venecia, located within the walls of the castle and surrounded by little hippie stands. We had the special menu for 16 euros. The waiter advised the baby squid with langoustines and the marinara mussels and for the main course the fish and seafood stew. The baby squid with langoustines was delicious, the salsa incredible and the first time we tried it. The fish and seafood stew really good also, with monkfish, swordfish, clams, mussels and langoustines. All with a bottle of white wine and they invited us for drinks afterwards for my birthday. We recommend this restaurant if you come to Peñiscola. The only thing is that they don’t take cards so you have to pay in cash. We didn’t know and we were 2 euros short, we told them we will go to the bank but they told us it was ok! Really nice!!

After lunch we went to see the castle gardens, where the views are amazing!

Then we went around the old town discovering new alleys and we finish having some drinks in a place next to the sea where two seagulls were keeping everybody entertained. We finished a little dizzy and at night we went back to our camping.

On Monday we received the visit of our friend Claudia. She came from Germany and she was going to Marbella, so she stopped here to see us, rest and pass the day. We went to lunch with her and showed her the town. She loved it and took many pictures of the castle, old town, alleys etc. We finished having some drinks outside our motorhome and on Tuesday she left for Marbella. It was amazing to see her in the middle of our travels!

And our adventure in Castellon and Valencia is finished. Now we are going to Cataluña. First stop Tarragona and after that Barcelona. We will keep you posted!
